This scholarship was established by the family and friends of Dan Wood who served on the Santa Cruz City Schools District Board of Trustees. This scholarship in memory of Dan Wood was started on January 7, 2004, on what would have been his 34th birthday. The purpose of the scholarship is to benefit graduating seniors from a high school in Santa Cruz City School District who are planning to attend a two- or four-year college, university or vocational school following graduation. Applicants must demonstrate community involvement and volunteer work. Financial need is required.

    Enroll at least part-time (minimum of six units) at a two or four-year college, university or vocational school following graduation.

    History of service activities or volunteer work.
