Kenneth Makinney & David T. Pietsch Families Scholarship Fund

Hawaii Community Foundation

The families of Kenneth Makinney and David T. Pietsch, Sr. established this fund. This scholarship honors the memory of Kenneth Makinney's father and David T. Pietsch Sr. Kenneth Makinney's father who founded Makinney & Company in 1896 and David T. Pietsch Sr. founded Hawaiian Title Company, Limited in 1952. The two companies merged to form Title Guaranty of Hawai'i. This scholarship was intended to assist deserving employees and/or their dependents in furthering their education. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students attending full-time at an accredited, two or four, not-for-profit institution within the US (including US territories).

Eligible employees must be employed full-time and have been with the Title Guaranty for at least one year.
