The Marsh Minority Scholarship is provided to African-American and Hispanic students who would like to pursue their college education. The program was established in 1997 by Wendy and Stanley Marsh. The applicant must be attending West Texas A&M University to be awarded a $1,000 fund.

    The applicant must be a legal permanent resident (or U.S. citizen).
  • Citizenship:
    The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen (or a legal permanent resident).
  • College:
    The student must be attending college at West Texas A&M University.
  • Major/Career:
    The awardee must major in the field of Education, Nursing, Allied Health, Sociology, or General Studies.
  • Ethnicity:
    The scholarship is restricted to African American and Hispanic students.

  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two (2) letters of recommendation - one letter should be from a teacher you had in high school and the second letter should be from a pastor, employer, coach, mentor, etc. Letters written by family members are not permitted.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicant must submit their proof of U.S. Citizenship (photocopy of U.S. birth certificate) or legal permanent residency status, ACT and/or SAT scores (if scores appear on the back of your high school transcript, no additional documents are necessary), page one (1) of current year IRS tax Form 1040 for household (if current year is not available, previous year will be accepted).
