The Michael Gordon Burgos Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to selected Ventura County residents who graduated or will graduate from any high school in Ventura County.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Who have graduated from or will graduate this year from any high school in Ventura County
  • Minimum GPA:
    3.0
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Residence:
    Current Ventura County residents with a minimum of 3 years residency in Ventura County
  • College:
    Must be enrolled in or will enroll in an accredited non-profit institution of higher learning located within Ventura County
  • Major/Career:
    Preference in the selection process will be given to students intending to pursue a course of study in any of the healing arts, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy or psychology
  • Extracurricular:
    To students who show participation in local volunteer health and/or human benefit programs
  • Athletics:
    To students who have shown an interest in or participated in basketball or tennis
  • Miscellaneous:
    Preference in the selection process will be given to students who demonstrate an interest in environmental protection/preservation
