The Community Foundation for Northern Virigina

The Rose Koury Scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia in recognition outstanding Northern Virginia high school seniors. The applicants considered in the program are those who plan to enter the field of early childhood or elementary education. Students awarded must demonstrate strength of character and dedication to improving the lives of others through a career in education.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    The scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Northern Virginia public and private high schools.
  • Minimum GPA:
    2.50
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Residence:
    Applicants must be permanent legal residents (or a U.S. Citizens). Applicants must be legal residents of Northern Virginia.
  • Citizenship:
    Applicants must be U.S. citizens (or permanent legal residents).
  • School:
    The scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Northern Virginia public and private high schools (defined as the areas of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties.)
  • College:
    Scholarship is for full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university.
  • Major/Career:
    Applicants must plan to pursue a career related to elated to early childhood or elementary education.
  • Extracurricular:
    Applicants must have community service and leadership as demonstrated by extracurricular activities.

    The selection committee will consider academic achievement, financial need, dedication to the field of education, and community service.
