Scholarships for Dance Majors

Any true dancer knows that there can be no price tag on true art. But all the same, there is a price tag on education, and it can be steep. Luckily, there are scholarships available specifically for students majoring in dance, to make getting that degree a little less painful. Many arts foundations across the country offer scholarships to students studying for various arts degrees, including dance. Local and state organizations so also, as well as some universities that have degrees in dance. In order to qualify, students usually need to display both a passion and a talent in dance. Some scholarships include an audition. Students will also likely need to demonstrate good academic standing and possible financial need. The scholarship is offered by Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), a private, publicly funded, self governing organization of higher education institutions in Germany. The scholarship provides graduates the opportunity to continue their education in Germany with a postgraduate or continuing course of study. Applicants must have gained a first university degree in the field of the Performing Arts at the latest by the time they commence their scholarship-supported study programme. Applicants who have been resident in Germany for longer than 15 months at the application deadline cannot be considered.
