Scholarships for English Majors

If you're aiming to master the English language and literature by pursuing a degree in English, a great idea is to start by researching scholarships available to English majors. The good news is there are plenty of options available. Put those writing skills to use by applying for a scholarship from one of the many foundations and other organizations, such as local chambers of commerce, that fund and award English scholarships. Some scholarships for English majors are open to students already enrolled or accepted into programs, while others are for high school seniors and community college transfer students. Many of these scholarships require applicants to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher, and some are limited to minority students or those with demonstrated financial need. Applicants will almost certainly need to submit transcripts and a well-written essay. Start exploring scholarships for English majors below.
