Scholarships for Osteopathy Majors

If you are interested in a career in osteopathic medicine, make no bones about it: Your education is sure to be costly. The good news? There are scholarships available that can help offset the burden of college tuition and fees. One of the main sources of scholarships is the National Academy of Osteopathy. Some of these scholarships are directed toward undergraduate students and others toward those pursuing graduate studies. Many are based on academic achievement. Other associations, such as the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) and the American Osteopathic Foundation, also fund scholarship programs. Applications often include the submission of letters of recommendation and personal essays. In addition, scholarships are available through universities offering these osteopathy programs. Eligibility for school-based scholarships vary and can include degree level, state residency, ethnicity, community service or military enrollment in addition to demonstration of financial need and academic achievement.
