Scholarships for Hawaiian History Majors

Planning on attending a university in Hawaii and pursuing a degree in history? The good news (besides the fact that you'll be attending college in paradise) is that there are several scholarships available to students like you! Institutions such as the University of Hawaii at Manoa, BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University fund scholarships for history majors. Hawaii Pacific University offers a $1,000 scholarship not just for history majors but those pursuing a degree in Hawaiian Studies or American Studies as well. Requirements for these types of scholarships include a specific GPA and in some cases residency in the state. Scholarships funded by civic organizations, such as the Kona Hawaiian Civic Club and the Prince Kūhiō Hawaiian Civic Club, award scholarships for those entering Hawaiian Studies degree programs. History majors can also apply to the many privately-funded scholarships made available to students attending a Hawaiian college or university.
