Scholarships for Women's Studies Majors

If you’re a Women’s Studies Major, then you already know plenty about gender roles, societal constructs, feminism and what it means to be a woman. What you might not know, however, is that your status as a Women’s Studies Major may qualify you for one or more college scholarships. Some of the available scholarships are offered by foundations and organizations such as the National Organization for Women. Many more are funded by individual colleges and universities such as Appalachian State University, the University of Wisconsin Madison, San Diego State University, California State University Chico and Avila University. Requirements vary from scholarship to scholarship, but potential recipients will typically need to submit official transcripts, write an essay on a topic related to Women’s Studies, demonstrate a certain level of financial need, obtain letters of recommendation or meet a minimum grade point average.
