Oklahoma City Community Foundation offers numerous scholarships for students. One of the scholarships offered is the Alberta Brannon Memorial Scholarship. The program was established by Brannons family in 2009, as it aims to serve young people financially, cultivate leadership, promote philanthropy and provide opportunities for all. This scholarship is a one-year award for students pursuing Hospitality and Tourism Program at MetroTech Technology Center, Oklahoma City.

    Preference is given to current year graduating seniors of high school.
  • Minimum GPA:
    3.0

  • Residence:
    The scholarship is open to Oklahoma residents only.
  • College:
    Applicants must have the intention of studying hospitality & tourism or food services at MetroTech Technology Center (OKC), Francis Tuttle (OKC), or Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (Okmulgee).
  • Major/Career:
    Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Food Services and Tourism Program.
  • Other Benefits:
    Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses; payments are made directly to the school.

  • Essay:
    Applicants must answer the following questions: Why did you selected the Restaurant and Food/Beverage Service major?What career path do you intend to pursue (restaurant owner; caterer; Executive chef; etc.)?Provide an example of how you have already demonstrated what you have learned in the Restaurant and Food/Beverage Service program.If awarded, how would the scholarship assist you with your financial needs as you pursue your planned educational endeavors and what would the scholarship mean to you.Did you submit your household's 1040 or your FAFSA for the coming year when you completed the General Application? (NOTE: If you answered "no", please know that financial need may be considered for this scholarship, and to be eligible for this scholarship you need to return to the General Application/Student Profile and attach a 1040 or FAFSA.)
  • Recommendation Letters:
    Names and email addresses of the guidance counselors, teachers and/or administrators who will write letters of recommendation for you. One is required for the General Application; certain scholarships may require up to three.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicants must submit FAFSA Electronic Student Aid Report or page 1 and 2 of your households most recent IRS 1040 tax form.
