Barbara J. Thompson Scholarship

Community Foundation Santa Cruz County

This scholarship was established in honor of Barbara J. Thompson's retirement from the board in 2002. Barbara served as a trustee on the Santa Cruz City Schools Board and a firm supporter of public education and making educational opportunities available to all students. This scholarship is open to graduating seniors or graduates from Delta Charter, Harbor, Santa Cruz or Soquel High Schools. Applicants must be planning to enroll in an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school. Employed students, assisted with family care, demonstrated community involvement, were involved with sports, or performed volunteer work while enrolled in high school are given priority.

    Attend an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school in the year following receipt of scholarship.
  • Extracurricular:
    History of service activities or volunteer work. Were involved with sports.
