Landscape Architecture Foundation

Sponsored by BSLA, the scholarship is open to students who are legal residents of or attending a school in Maine or Massachusetts. Students must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate landscape architecture program in Massachusetts or Maine.

  • Organization:
    Must be a member of the ASLA Student Society which will be verified by BSLA with the ASLA roster

  • Essay:
    A brief, signed statement (400 word maximum) of (a) why you are requesting this scholarship and (b) why you chose Landscape Architecture as your field of study. Include on this page the name of the school and program in which you are enrolled . Optional: Include one additional 8.5 x11 page reflecting a passion or interest of yours (e.g., photography, botany, woodworking, etc.)
  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two letters of recommendations from faculty, staff or personal/professional reference
  • Portfolio/Work Samples:
    An 8 x 11 PDF portfolio of your student work to-date. The portfolio shall consist of a cover and three 2-page spreads maximum (e.g. two pages / project). Portfolio can be a combination of images, text, sketches, etc. as appropriate to represent your work and approach to Landscape Architecture.
  • Other Materials:
    Must provide verification from their college/university that they are currently enrolled. A scan of the school ID is acceptable verification.
