Charlotte Housing Authority Scholarship is open to residents of public housing by Charlotte Housing Authority. The scholarship is given to students who are attending college, vocation or technical school. Applicants who previously attended college may also be eligible for the scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Applicants must be an undergraduate student. Applicants attending college, vocation or technical school for the first time must not be over 21 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made. Applicants already attending or who have previously attended a college, a vocational or technical school must not be over 24 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made.
  • Financial Need:

  • Residence:
    The applicant must be a resident of public housing owned or managed by the Charlotte Housing Authority (including the Housing Choice Voucher program) and be named as an occupant in the current lease for at least one year prior to the scholarship application deadline. The scholarship is also open to residents of Mecklenburg County, NC.
  • College:
    The awardee must be attending college, vocation or technical school.
  • Miscellaneous:
    The scholarship is open to non-traditional students.
