Clara Carter Higgins of the Worcester (Massachusetts) Garden Club established this scholarship in 1964 with a stock gift of approximately $15,000. This scholarship benefits undergraduate students following their freshman, sophomore, or junior years doing field work, research, or classroom work in an environmental field. Students must demonstrate a keen interest in the betterment of the environment an opportunity for further study at a site chosen by the student.
