Drew Smith Memorial Scholarship

Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore

This scholarship fund was started in memory of Drew Smith who was a Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He loved all aspects of the game golf and volunteered to work at golf tournaments in Scotland and other tournaments in the United States. The scholarship aims to benefit a turfgrass management student who has a similar passion for the golf industry.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Applicants must be adults or graduating public or private high school seniors
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Other Academic Requirements:
    A graduate in their current years graduating class.Have been accepted into an accredited college or university. All applicants must be enrolled in college for a minimum of six credit hours per scholastic year
  • Residence:
    Residents of the Eastern Shore Counties of Maryland and Virginia or the State of Delaware.
  • School:
    Graduating Senior from any lower shore high school
  • College:
    Have been accepted into an accredited college or university.
  • Major/Career:
    Pursuing a degree in golf turf management
  • Extracurricular:
    Although extracurricular activities are required, in considering eligibility, work or community activities can substitute for extracurricular activities.
  • Miscellaneous:
    Applicants who are adults must be currently employed, have a positive work history and have one or more references available from current or past employers
