Duane & Shirley Hiller Student-Athlete Scholarship is $250 non-renewable fund given to graduating seniors at West Monona High School or Kingsley-Pierson High School. The scholarship aims to support student-athletes who want to pursue a post-secondary education. The program was established in 2009 by Duane and Shirley' s friends through the Siouxland Community Foundation.

    The applicant must be a high school senior.
  • Minimum GPA:
    2.80

  • School:
    Applicants must be graduating seniors from either West Monona High School or Kingsley-Pierson High School.
  • College:
    Applicants must be pursuing a post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution located in Iowa, Nebraska, or South Dakota.
  • Extracurricular:
    The awardee must have been involved in school-sponsored sports for each of their four (4) years while in high school.

  • Judging Criteria:
    Selection of recipients is based on such factors as scholastic performance, participation in extracurricular & community activities, work history, and essay evaluation.
