Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Who is a graduate of a high school, alternative school or GED program; or a graduate of a high school, alternative school or GED program in Kalamazoo County.
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Residence:
    The applicant must be a Kalamazoo County resident
  • College:
    Applicant may be enrolled as a part-time or full time student who is pursuing vocational or technical training, trade school, a certificate program, a 2-year degree or 4-year degree.

    Essay typed into the text box in the eGRANT application addressing why you merit consideration for this scholarship. Include how extracurricular activities volunteer experiences and leadership roles have helped to prepare you for your choice of study. If you have overcome challenges or improved in motivation and achievement, please provide this information also. In addition to the general essay question please include the type of degree or training you plan to receive and how this degree or training will help you reach your career goals.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    One Scholarship Recommendation Form and Letter of Recommendation from an adult who is not a family member, but who knows the applicant well and who can attest to the students' ability and motivation to complete their post-secondary education.
