  • Essay:
    Law school students who enter the essay contest will write a 2,000 word essay. The two winning essays will be posted on the yanezlaw.com article section and credit will be given to the winning writers. The content must be original, in other words the content must not be reproduced from the Internet. We will run a Copyscape search (plagiarism checker) to ensure the content is original and not duplicated from the Internet. By submitting the essay the winners are granting Yanez & Associates permission to post the essay on Yanezlaw.com and/or any social media channel. Further, the winners will be required to submit a headshot, which will be used to accompany the essay when it posts. The topic question for 2016: Q: What issues do family law judges take into account when determining who should get custody of the children; how can the child custody orders be modified post-judgment? (Please remember that the winning essays will be made public; therefore, you should avoid writing personal sensitive information)
