Tega Cay Lions Club Scholarship is provided to graduating high school seniors of Fort Mill School District. The program aims to support students who have an economic need or are physically disabled. The scholarship awards 3 grants of $1,500 to $2,500 funds.

Eligibility Requirements

    The applicant must be a high school senior.
  • Minimum GPA:
    2.50
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Residence:
    The applicant must be residing at Fort Mill, SC.
  • School:
    The candidate shall be a graduating Fort Mill High School and Nation Ford High School student or student of an equivalent educational program.
  • College:
    The applicant must have applied for admission to a four-year college or university, acommunity college or a technical college.
  • Miscellaneous:
    Applicant is not eligible if he or she is notified of and accepted a significant scholarship to a university, college, community college, technical college or military academy.

  • Essay:
    The applicant must write a Biographical Sketch that is at least one page in length, but not more than two pages, which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Reasons for wanting to be considered for the scholarship, Career goals and life ambitions, Financial situation, Statement discussing your disability or economic need.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two Letters of Recommendation: One letter from a professional educator, which describes your activities and leadership record while in high school, One letter from an unrelated adult (non-school personnel), which describes yourpersonal traits, character, and initiative, Additional letters will be accepted from other sources of your choice.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicant must submit the following:Applicant must provide proof of residing in the 29708 zip code, the area west of Interstate 77, via the official school transcript or other educational documentation or provide a notarized letter from applicants Guidance Counselor, Principal or other educator stating the applicant is a legal resident and why there is a discrepancy on the transcript regarding his/her address. Most current SAT and/or ACT scores (separately, if not indicated on transcript)Class ranking and GPA at the end of the first semester of the senior year (separately, if not indicated on transcript)
