The Hans P. Loewen Scholarship was established in May 2014 by the Board of Directors. Applicants must be a high-school senior, college freshman or sophomore student pursuing degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math

    The scholarship is limited to U.S. citizens (or permanent residents)
  • College:
    Who are enrolled in an accredited university in the United States
  • Major/Career:
    Must be pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).
  • Organization:
    Applicants must be ANS National Student Member unless they are incoming freshmen. Recipients must be ANS National Student Members prior to the final disbursement of funds. Incoming freshmen selected to receive the award must become ANS National Student Members once they begin their undergraduate studies and they must notify ANS Headquarters that they have joined the Society. Once ANS verifies membership status, the funds will be dispersed.

    Applicants for the Hans P. Loewen scholarship must submit an essay describing their leadership qualities and, in particular, how they help others meet their goals, and their interest in supporting nuclear science and technology.
