This scholarship fund was provided by Joseph Towner for the purpose of awarding post-secondary students who have at least one LGBT parent residing in one of the nine Bay Area counties

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Applicant must be 25 years of age or younger
  • Minimum GPA:
    2.50
  • Financial Need:
    Not Mentioned
  • Residence:
    Must reside in one of the following nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano.
  • College:
    Must be enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution
  • Organization:
    Have a strong history of activism within LGBT communities;
  • Miscellaneous:
    Must carry a full-time academic work load (minimum 12 units per term)Applicant must be the child of a lesbian or gay parent
  • Other Benefits:
    Reapplication required for renewal. Renewable to a maximum of $4,000.
