Lee's passion for the arts and desire to help others was recognized through this scholarship. The estate of Bessie started this scholarship to benefit graduates of Hancock County high schools who have been accepted to study music in a college or conservatory.

    Personal statement, musical performances outside of the school setting,extracurricular activities, and academic performance are the basis for choosing a recipient of this award. Financial need may also be considered.
