Past Presidents Scholarship

Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation

The scholarship is designed to enhance the professional development of Illinois real estate professionals. It is open to residents of Illinois who are members of the Illinois REALTORS to pursue their CRB (Certified Residential Broker), CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist), CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member), or RCE (REALTOR Association Certified Executive) designation.

    A typed, signed statement of activities in your local Board, including any committee memberships orchairmanships, of your attendance at local Board meetings and functions, and of your attendance at meetings and functions of the Illinois REALTORS; Information regarding community involvement, including details of local, state and national participation in civic and service clubs, charitable activities, political action, fraternal or religious groups
  • Organization:
    Must be a member of the Illinois REALTORS
  • Other Benefits:
    The scholarship will pay for tuition, reimbursement for actual expenses incurred, including hotel expenses and meals, may also be considered by the Foundation.

Application Details

  • Judging Criteria:
    The selection of scholarship recipients will be determined by the Foundation, taking into consideration the following criteria: The applicants status as an Illinois resident and a member of the Illinois REALTORS; The applicants references and recommendations by at least one real estate broker from the office with which the applicant is affiliated (if the applicant is from a small office a designated principle broker from another firm within the same local association may be used) and from two officers from the local Board of which the applicant is a member, one of which may be the local Board Executive Officer; The applicant has been a licensed real estate agent or broker for a minimum of one year, working and residing in Illinois; The applicants intended course of study.

  • Essay:
    Personal letter providing information about why you need this particular scholarship, your plans for use of the scholarship, and your future goals as they relate to the use of this scholarship.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    A letter of recommendation from at least one real estate broker from the office with which the applicant is affiliated; Letters of recommendations from two officers (one which may be the local Board Executive Officer) from the local Board of which the applicant is a member.
  • Other Materials:
    A typed, signed statement of activities in your local Board, including any committee memberships or chairmanships, of your attendance at local Board meetings and functions, and of your attendance at meetings and functions of the Illinois REALTORS; Information regarding community involvement, including details of local, state and national participation in civic and service clubs, charitable activities, political action, fraternal or religious groups
