This scholarship is now named Women Techmakers Scholars Program provided by google to continue Dr. Anita Borgs vision of creating gender equality in the field of computer science. This program was also intended to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active leaders and role models in the field. Dr. Anita Borg was devoted in revolutionizing the way we think about technology and pull apart barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields. This scholarship is open to female students studying computer science, computer engineering or a closely related technical field at an accredited university for the 2016-2017 academic year. Students must be planning to enroll in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters or PhD program at a university in the United States or Canada for the 2017-2018 academic year. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic record, leadership, and passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science.
