Tim Akers Memorial Scholarship

Alaska Community Foundation

This scholarship was established in memory of Tim Akers who played an influential role in the development and production of the Prudhoe Bay Oilfield. He was a mentor and an inspiration to many young Alaskans with little or no experience working on the North Slope. He served as President of the Chuloonawick Native Corporation. This scholarship is open to graduating high school senior or college student pursuing study in the field of technology education and/or training. Alaska Native students and those with demonstrated financial need are preferred.

    Personal Essay: Your essay should detail your commitment to the pursuit of a technology related career, and should be no more than a page (500 words) in length.
