VCCF Scholarship Fund for Ventura County

Ventura County Community Foundation

The scholarship is established by Ventura County Community Foundation to support graduating high school seniors of Ventura County who are planning to attend in vocational or career technical education institution. Recipients are selected by their respective high schools and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

    Must be graduating seniors from each high school in Ventura County

    Must enroll at an accredited community college or an accredited four-year college or university as a candidate for an undergraduate degree
  • Major/Career:
    Must be planning to enroll in a vocational or career technical education institution in pursuit of a certificate of completion
  • Extracurricular:
    Must demonstrate significant community service and school activities
  • Miscellaneous:
    Star Scholar nominees are selected by their respective high schools and are notified by the Ventura County Star (newspaper) who gives them a link to a site where they download the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) Star Scholar application

    There are specific prompts during the application process. VCCF selection committees consider student essays as narrative pictures of applicants. Essays must be a total of 500-700 words overall.
