Scholarships for Florida Residents

Warm weather and sunshine are not the only reasons to attend college in Florida. The state also sponsors many scholarships that can help you attain the education you are seeking. One of the main sources of these scholarships is the state's Department of Education. These awards generally require that applicants submit SAT, ACT or PERT scores and possess a minimum GPA (at least 2.5), in addition to having completed the FFAA application. Other requirements in some cases could include enrollment in a specific degree program, ethnicity or even completion of volunteer service. Other scholarships are funded by Florida colleges and universities, professional associations and foundations. Still other sources include memorial scholarships or privately-funded awards. The following list will shed more light on the scholarships available to you as a Florida resident attending college in that state.
