The Destino Scholarship Fund was established to benefit graduating Latina or Latino high school seniors from high schools in Ventura County OR Latina or Latino community college students, or Latina or Latino college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who graduated from high school in Ventura County and who are enrolled or plan to enroll full-time at an accredited California college, with a priority for those enrolled or enrolling at CSU Channel Islands, Moorpark College, Oxnard College, or Ventura College. Applicants must be a resident of Ventura County.

  • Essay:
    Required essay topic: discuss what inspired you to pursue a college education and explain how that education will help you give back to the community through promoting education, health and wellness, literacy or other key Destino goals.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    2 letters of recommendation required, at least 1 from a current teacher at the school you attend. You will need the email addresses of your teachers, counselors,professors, employers in order to send them an email request for letters of recommendation. You may request paper letters of recommendation. If you choose to do this, you will upload electronic versions of the letters with your online scholarship application. Please note: VCCF does not accept letters of recommendation from family members of applicants.
