I Mua Mlama JROTC Ka`awaloa Takemoto Scholarship is a $500 fund given to two students who is a graduating JROTC cadets. The scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue post-secondary studies. The applicants must be attending Farrington High School, Nnkuli High School, or Kapolei High School. Demonstration of high moral character and exemplify the Army Values is a requirement to be eligible of the scholarship.

  • Character Traits:
    The applicant must demonstrate high moral character and exemplify the Army Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
  • School:
    The applicants must be from Farrington High School, Nnkuli High School, or Kapolei High School.
  • College:
    The awardee must be enrolled in a two- or four-year, accredited college institution in Hawai`i or the continental U.S.
  • Major/Career:
    The applicant must be pursuing a career in public service in such professions as the military, law enforcement, firefighting, teaching, nursing, etc.
  • Military:
    The applicant must be a cadet in Junior Reserve Officer Training (JROTC) and successfully completed minimum one year JROTC program and held a leadership position.
