The fellowship known as The Nancy Weiss Malkiel Fellowship created to honor Dr. Malkiel's 40th year of service on the Woodrow Wilson Foundation Board and designed to support junior faculty as they work towards achieving tenure.

    Preference will be given to those whose work echoes and elaborates themes addressed in Dr. Malkiels scholarship and careerthat is, topics related to 20th- and 21st-century American history, politics, culture, and society, with emphases including but not limited to African American issues, womens issues, and/or higher education.They will have successfully passed their institutions standard tenure reviewnormally conducted in the third or fourth yearno later than January 29, 2016 and will be in the fourth or fifth year of the appointment.

    An essay describing the applicants research/publication plan and career objectives (maximum of 1000 words)

    Two (2) letters of recommendation from senior colleagues that speak to the applicants scholarly promise as well as to her/his demonstrated affinity for teaching, advising, and service.
  • Portfolio/Work Samples:
    Abstract of a current manuscript, conference paper, or article, along with a brief explanation of the relationship of this work to the tenure portfolio
