Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Education Foundation

Leanna Dorworth Memorial Scholarship is one of SME Education Foundations offered scholarships annually. The scholarship is offered to female students pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering programs. The awardee may use the funds for tuition, books or lab/course fees related to attaining a technical or engineering education.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Applicant must be a graduating High School senior or an undergraduate student with no more than 30 credit hours.
  • Minimum GPA:
    2.50
  • Financial Need:
    Not Mentioned
  • Residence:
    Applicants must be students with permanent residency status in the U.S. (i.e. green card) or Canada, or applicants with a U.S. or Canadian student visa.
  • Citizenship:
    Preference will be given to legal citizens of North American countries but there are no geographic restrictions on the scholarship. Scholarships are only available to citizens of the U.S. and territories, citizens of Canada.
  • Major/Career:
    Applicants must be a full or part-time student pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in STEM, Manufacturing or Industrial engineering programs.
  • Organization:
    Applicant must be a child or grandchild of an SME member or be a student member of SME.
