The Medical Alliance of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City Scholarship was established by the Medical Alliance of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City. This scholarship is provided to benefit students pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing or other allied health careers such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, medical assisting, anesthesiology, etc. Applicants of the scholarship must be a resident of metropolitan Kansas City.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Applicants must be at least a sophomore pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing or an allied healthcare field at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum GPA:
    3.0
  • Financial Need:
    Preferred
  • Other Academic Requirements:
    Applicants must have completed all prerequisite courses and have been admitted into a specific nursing or allied healthcare-related degree program.
  • Residence:
    Applicant must be a resident of metropolitan Kansas City.
  • College:
    Applicants must be at least a sophomore pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing or an allied healthcare field at an accredited college or university.
  • Major/Career:
    Applicants must be at least a sophomore pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing or an allied healthcare field.
  • Extracurricular:
    Applicants must have demonstrated participation in extracurricular activities, community service, and/or work.
  • Miscellaneous:
    Applicants must have excellent communication skills.

    A short essay (maximum of 500 words) stating what medicine means to you and how you hope touse your profession to help others.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    A letter of recommendation from someone who can attest to your professional abilities.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicants must state their Number of Dependent Children (Line 6C of Tax Form 1040) and Taxable Income (Line 37 of Tax Form 1040) if they are head of their household. They must also submit the letter of acceptance into nursing or allied healthcare-related degree program.
