Project SEED College Scholarship

American Chemical Society (ACS)

The scholarship is open to high school seniors who have participated in ACS Project SEED. It aims to assist former SEED participants in their transition from high school to college. Applicants must pursue a major in chemistry or a chemical-related field such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, materials science or other closely related field including pharmacy or food science.

  • Miscellaneous:
    Applications are only open to students who have participated in the Summer I or Summer II SEED program and who are entering their senior year in the fall; Students majoring in nursing or biology will not be considered

    Selection is based on achievement in school, success in the Project SEED program, financial need, and intended chemical-related field of scientific study

  • Essay:
    Essay should not exceed 2,500 characters (including spaces): 1) Please describe your Project SEED summer research project. To the best of your ability, briefly describe your research problem/hypothesis, experimental methods used, a summary of your results, and any conclusions drawn from your findings. 2) Describe how Project SEED has influenced your education and career choices, and helped you grow as a scientist.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two Letters of Recommendation (high school science teacher and ACS Project SEED mentor)
