Scholarships for Alaska Residents

Grizzly bears, the midnight sun and the Aurora Borealis – these are just a few of the many things which make Alaska unique. But did you know that simply living in Alaska could make you eligible for various college scholarships? Many of the scholarships available exclusively to Alaska residents are provided by the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, including the Alaska Education Grant and the Alaska Performance Scholarship. Others are funded by individual universities, such as the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University. Additionally, Alaskan students who plan on pursuing a career in the STEM fields might also want to look into the Alaska Space Grant Program. In general, potential recipients need to meet a minimum grade point average and submit official transcripts.
