Scholarships for Biochemistry Majors

As demand for STEM professionals increases, many universities, foundations and professional organizations seek to encourage students to pursue science degrees by offering scholarships. That includes scholarships for biochemistry majors. Some of these scholarships are reserved for graduating high school students planning to study science at accredited institutions. Others are awarded to college students already enrolled in biochemistry programs. To be considered for these scholarships, students generally must have high grades – typically a GPA of above 3.0 –and test scores. Applicants may be asked to submit a personal essay, as well as letters of recommendation. For some scholarships, students are asked to demonstrate proof of financial need.
