Sport Scholarships

Are you an athlete, hoping to put your sports skills and experience to use to help pay for college? You’ve come to the right place. There are a wide variety of scholarships available for students who play sports. Many sports scholarships are awarded by local community foundations, and these are generally reserved for graduating high school seniors planning to attend accredited institutions. Others, like some offered by universities, companies and other groups, are available to student athletes up to age 25 who already participate in college sports. Academic achievement may be considered in the selection process, but most sports scholarships give more weight to athletic participation, achievement, sportsmanship and community service. Applicants for these scholarships may be asked to submit an essay and letters of recommendation from coaches and others.
