Scholarships for Good Character

Good grades and athletic talent aren’t the only things that can help pay your way through college – simply being a good person can also earn you a scholarship. Scholarships for good character are awarded to students who have, in some way, demonstrated their good personal character or strong moral fiber, through a specific act or through long-term commitment to a community or cause. Many local community foundations offer these awards to celebrate upstanding members of the community. The applications for theses scholarships often include an essay explaining why you have good character, and letters of reference from other members of the community who can speak about your good qualities.
