Ventura County Community Foundation

This scholarship was established to benefit graduates or graduating seniors from a Ventura County high school who are planning to enroll or are enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university. Applicants must be pursuing a career in teaching at the elementary or high school level or be majoring in chemistry, physics, biology, or geology to become a science teacher.

    Pursuing a career in teaching (liberal studies with a strong interest in science education) at the elementary or high school level OR majoring in chemistry, physics, biology, or geology to become a science teacher.

    Required essay topic: Discuss your interest in science education and explain what prompted you to pursue a teaching career with a focus on science education.
  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two letters of recommendation. Neither person is a relative. Both recommenders gave me a working email address to use in my application. AT LEAST ONE of the recommenders is a current faculty member a teacher/professor teaching at the school I currently attend.
