Scholarships for Korean Students

Being on the honor roll or the star quarterback aren't the only ways to qualify for a scholarship. Korean-Americans can be eligible for scholarships based on their ethnic background, too. There are many scholarships available to students of Korean descent and heritage. Some of these scholarships – many of which are awarded by cultural foundations and other nonprofit groups, such as churches – are open to students from all of minority groups, while others are available specifically to Korean-American students. Eligibility requirements may include having a minimum GPA – often ranging between 2.5 and 3.0 – and having financial need. This opportunity is open to graduating senior at a high school in counties of Rock Island, Illinois or Scott, Iowa. Applicants must be of Korean descent (a child of one or two Korean biological parents is preferred, but as little as 25% Korean is acceptable). Students must be planning to attend as a full-time college student for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree.
