Scholarships for West Virginia Residents

If you’re one of West Virginia’s 1.8 million residents, then you’re already familiar with the Appalachian Mountains, the Ohio River and the Seneca Caverns. Another wonderful thing you might not be familiar with is the fact that your West Virginia residency may qualify you for a number of college scholarships. Many of those scholarships are provided by nonprofit foundations, such as the College Foundation of West Virginia, the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation and the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. Others are available through individual colleges and universities, including West Virginia University, Marshall University, Fairmont State University and BridgeValley Community & Technical College. Applying students may be required to display financial need, provide official transcripts, meet a minimum grade point average or demonstrate academic achievement. If you live in West Virginia and you’d like to learn more about scholarships for West Virginia residents, read on.
