Scholarships for Leadership

Leadership is an important quality. In recognition of that fact, there are a vast number of scholarships available to students who have exhibited strong leadership skills. Scholarships for leadership are offered by a variety of community foundations, nonprofits, professional groups, corporations and other organizations. Many of these scholarships are reserved for graduating high school seniors planning to attend accredited 2- or 4-year schools. Often, students are required to complete an online application and demonstrate their leadership activities. Some scholarship providers also look for extensive volunteer service and a strong work ethic. To be eligible, students also may need to submit their transcripts and meet a minimum GPA. Community or Technical College Transfer Students Scholarship is a $4,000 fund given to high school graduates of the 26 counties of Northwest Kansas. The scholarship is renewable for another year upon completion of satisfactory work as evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.
