Scholarships for New York Residents

Few people can say that their state is home to the most densely populated city as well as the most powerful waterfall in America, but New Yorkers can. Another thing New Yorkers can say? Their residency in the Empire State may make them eligible for a number of college scholarships. Many of the available scholarships are provided by the state itself, including the New York State Tuition Assistance Program, Scholarships for Academic Excellence, Aid for Part-Time Study and Aid to Native Americans. Others are offered by individual colleges and universities, such as Columbia University, New York University, Fordham University and City College of New York. Depending on which scholarships they’re applying to, students may need to meet a minimum grade point average, obtain letters of recommendation, demonstrate academic achievement or display a certain level of financial need. If you’re interested in learning more about scholarships for New York residents, keep reading below.
